DESPITE BEING IN existence on the Indian sub-continent for thousands of years, Indian Head Massage has only recently started to gain popularity in the West. Originally designed for use on the head the therapy has evolved to include other areas vulnerable to stress such as the shoulders and neck.
Although the techniques are applied to the upper part of the body, collectively they represent a de-stressing programme for the whole body. It can be said that Indian Head Massage is a truly holistic therapy in that it has many physiological and psychological benefits; many clients comment on the fact that they feel as if their whole body is balanced after a treatment.
Indian Head Massage is a convenient form of treatment as there is no need to undress, a treatment can take place anywhere that has seating and there are no special resources needed. A massage can take place in your own home, in a hair and beauty salon or even at the airport!
Increasingly treatments are taking place during lunchbreaks at offices as the importance of stress management is becoming more high profile. Stress-related issues are responsible for around 60% of the 67 million working days that are lost each year according to recent HSE figures. Whispers are more than happy to provide this service and welcome enquiries from local businesses.
Some Benefits of Indian Head Massage are:

A treatment usually lasts around 30 minutes after a brief consultation. A variety of massage movements are used starting with the shoulders and working up the neck, over the scalp and across the face. Oils are used to aid relaxation, although this is optional.
